Sax Man Easel Card

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

It’s been a while but I’m back with the third of four cards dedicated to my eldest brother.  He is multi-talented and this card’s theme highlights one of his many talents, playing the saxophone. This is Sax-Man:

So for this card I used stamps from one of my favorite stamp companies, Rubbernecker Stamp Co., both the image and sentiment.  I tried a few different card types but settled on an Easel card because I wanted him to be able to see both the image and the sentiment at the same time.

I tried a new technique for me with this card and used some new products.  I wanted the image to be sparkly and after seeing a card someone did using this technique I adapted it but basically used the same concept.   I stamped the image on white cardstock and then covered it with Elizabeth Craft double-sided adhesive and then covered it with Elizabeth Craft micro-fine glitter.  Next, I colored the image with Copic Markers but I only used two colors to try and create highlights and used each sparingly because the color really travels on the glitter and can easily bleed outside the stamped lines.  I used my stitched square die-cut to double mount the image and I used two great embossing folders in the card background:  the Sizzix holly swirls and sheet music embossing folder set and the We R Memory Keepers Next Level Gemstone.

So I have one more card to dedicate to my eldest brother because I promised four.  It’s been a joy to design cards with him as my muse so I do see more cards to come beyond the fourth one promised.  I don’t know what is next but thank goodness he has many talents from which I can draw upon for inspiration.

Until Next Time

God Bless and Happy Stamping !
