Brotherly Love, Sheltering Tree

Posted on

I’m back with the second of four cards dedicated to my eldest brother.  He is ultra-talented and a wonderful asset to our family.  He speaks nearly fluent French and although I DON’T,  I decided to do a card in French.

I used the Sheltering Tree  stamp set, in French, from Stampin’ Up.  It was a bit challenging because of the French element especially on the inside of the card.  Even though it’s only one line, getting the correct words and word order was difficult, not knowing French myself.  I know Spanish but somehow it was not helpful at all. LOL.    Anyway, I’m hopeful he’ll appreciate the extra effort to create a card especially for him in a language he really enjoys.

The outside sentiment translates into:  “Bill is a sheltering tree.”  The inside translation I’ll leave between he and I and anyone who happens to know French.

Faith Card for Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge

Posted on

Hello Everybody!

I was perusing the Craft Hoarders Anonymous Blog site and decided to join their first Challenge of the new year.  The instructions were to use at least one thing from each column below to make your creation.  I make cards so I, of course, made a card but the challenge is for crafters of varying types.  I must say it was FUN.  This is only the second challenge I’ve ever entered.   I don’t know exactly how it works but I hope we get to see the other entries.

Challenge Chart

Here is what I used from each Category:

Coloring Medium :  Ink, Marker

Fiber :  Ribbon

Technique :  Stamping, Folding & Scoring, Die Cutting

Texture :  Embossing (heat) (all words and image)

Embellish :  Bling – Glitter

I decided to use some of my encouragement stamps and because I need a lot of it right now, I settled on Faith as my theme.  I made two cards but this “FAITH” card is my entry for the Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge :

Faith

As always it’s hard to see the BLING of the glitter in the word FAITH and the Flowers but it shows up a little better in the picture below and the close up picture as well. Glitter Faith

I made another version of this card with ribbon and a bow instead of the word FAITH you can see it below:
